His passion for innovation led him to pioneer Canada’s first 20-unit shipping container apartment building, earning international acclaim as a finalist for Innovator of the Year by IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management).

Chris Hollinger, Vice President of Operations

As Vice President of Operations at Zen Residential, Chris plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting team development, and driving performance across the portfolio.

Prior to joining Zen, Chris held senior leadership roles within the property management industry, where he successfully managed portfolios exceeding 5,000 units and capital budgets of up to $32 million. He is known for maintaining high occupancy rates, delivering strong financial results, and building engaged, high-performing teams.

Chris brings a strategic, hands-on approach to optimizing asset performance, elevating the resident experience, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Colby Wallace, Controller
Colby is an accomplished financial-management executive with extensive experience leading financial operations at several major organizations. He is skilled in advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs, with a proven track record for executing strategic initiatives that streamline workflows.
As a resourceful professional, Colby is instrumental in preparing fiscal documentation, internal presentations, and annual reports. He has demonstrated expertise and business-savvy in analyzing cash flows, financial statements, and budget forecasting, helping to ensure seamless operational continuity.

Colby is a performance-driven leader known for spearheading enhanced process improvements, advising CFO and CEO on profit-maximizing ideas to ensure long-term success. He is proficient in identifying and creating methodologies to rectify performance issues and preserve business integrity, ensuring operational excellence while meeting ambitious growth objectives.
Before assuming the role of Controller at Zen, Colby served as Controller for York Construction Inc. in Edmonton, leading a dynamic team and driving strategic company KPIs. Prior to this, he was Assistant Corporate Controller at Valard Group, managing and executing all accounting initiatives and support functions across the US. He was also Finance Manager for Creative Door Services and Senior Financial Analyst for DHL Supply Chain/Connect Logistics, both located in Edmonton.

Dean founded Property Assets National Group, a prestigious management company serving large pension funds and asset managers. Before his current position as Chief Development Officer at ZEN Residential, Dean held key positions at Ontario Housing Corporation, PAN Group Properties, among others, and was recognized nationally for his volunteer work, including his leadership at Cambridge Immigrant Services.
